Clinical Psychologist — Hobart, Tasmania
Healing happens through understanding and connection.
I’m Tane, a Clinical Psychologist based in North Hobart.
I provide evidence based, person centred therapy for individuals seeking to work through trauma, strengthen relationships and live with greater clarity and vitality. My approach is compassionate, practical and grounded in current psychological science. I want to build a connection with you, be your assistant and help you to navigate the tough challenge that you're currently facing.
I'm a Tasmanian clinical psychologist with a strong connection to the local community. My path into psychology began in youth residential care where I witnessed how the right support can change the course of a person's life. Since then, I've worked across private, community and multidisciplinary health settings including within a medical weight‑management clinic alongside GPs, dietitians, endocronologists and other medical professionals.
I hold a Master of Clinical Psychology, am a board approved supervisor and I am trained in trauma focused therapies including EMDR. My practice is guided by empathy, scientific rigour and a respect for each person's lived experience. I aim to help clients make sense of their story, develop effective strategies for change and reconnect with what matters most.
In my North Hobart practice you'll find a warm, calm and respectful environment designed to support meaningful psychological work at every stage of life.
My therapeutic approach integrates a range of evidence‑based methods, tailored to the individual:
I work with people from all walks of life and am committed to creating a space that is safe, affirming and inclusive. I welcome neurodiverse clients, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals accessing therapy through NDIS (self‑ and plan‑managed).
Appointments are available in North Hobart. While I do find that our connection is better in person, I unreservedly offer sesssions via secure Telehealth for Tasmanian residents.
